The Bensalem Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Deputy Director David Richardson died after a battle with pancreatic cancer over the last year, which his department said he fought with unending courage and humility. Richardson was a police officer in Bensalem Township for the past 24 years. He started as a patrol officer and was a member of the K9 unit for 13 years with his two K9 partners, Czar and Prince. Couple Gets Prison Time For Violent Suburban Philly Carjackings
A couple was sentenced on Monday for two violent carjackings and an attempted carjacking in Bucks County last year, which resulted in two people being hospitalized, authorities said. Eric Meehan, 29, and Ashley Young, 32, both pleaded guilty on Oct. 12 to two counts each of robbery of a motor vehicle and aggravated assault and one count each of criminal conspiracy to commit robbery of a motor vehicle and attempt to commit robbery of a motor vehicle, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. A would-be robber with a toy gun was arrested after a Pennsylvania 7-Eleven store clerk yanked his shirt off, authorities said. John E. Grubbs II, 44, of Philadelphia, was nabbed Wednesday after leaving his DNA-stained shirt at the Bensalem Township store, local police said. They did not specify the store's address. A homeless Levittown man is facing various charges after investigators tracked an IP address to a family member's house in the Bristol Township section of Levittown, where they found his laptop filled with child pornography, authorities said. Bensalem Township police and the Bucks County Detectives ignited a joint investigation and served a search warrant at the Magnolia Drive home on May 20, according to the criminal complaint. Pennsylvania State Police are seeking the public's help identifying the person who shot a man and fled the scene on I-95 southbound Bensalem Township on Saturday, authorities said. Members of the PSP Trevose Crime Unit responded mile marker 33.8 around 3:50 a.m., where they found a man with a gunshot wound, Trooper Nathan T. Branosky said.
