Kayaker Found Dead In Central PA Creek: Officials A 44-year-old kayaker was found dead in Swatara Creek, the Dauphin County Coroner's Office confirmed Friday morning.  The Lancaster man was kayaking with friends when "he appears to have had a medical event," on Thursday, June 13, according to the coroner's release.  A life jacket was reportedly on the boat but was not on the man when he was found shortly after 9 p.m., officials explained.  "The Coroner’s Office is now working to ensure that all family members are notified before releasing his name," Dauphin County Press Secretary Diane McNaughton said. Parks In Dauphin County Remain Closed As Flooding From Ida Continues Two parks in Dauphin County are expected to remain closed after serious flooding following Hurricane Ida. McNaughton and Schiavoni parks will be closed at least through, "sometime next week," according to Swatara Township Police.
