Seems as though we can't go a single weekend without rain in the Northeast this fall. Another developing storm system is expected to arrive this Saturday, Oct. 14, according to the National Weather Service. "Several days of quiet weather are expected before a storm system arrives unfortunately in time for the weekend," the NWS' Mount Holly office said. Strong Storms With Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds Taking Aim At Region: Here's What's Coming
A new storm system accompanied by locally heavy rain, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and possible flash flooding will sweep through the region before things heat up for the rest of the week. Storm activity on Tuesday, July 25, will start from west to east in the early afternoon and continue through the evening, according to the National Weather Service. Projected Snowfall Totals Released For Storm System On Track For Region
The first projected snowfall totals have been released for a storm system headed to the region in the second half of the weekend. The system is on track for Sunday, Dec. 11, according to the National Weather Service. "A general 1-3 inches of snow is in store over part of the interior Northeast from the storm," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said. A cold front that accompanied a potent storm system that caused power outages throughout the region has ushered in cold temperatures and will be followed by another round of gusty storms. A stretch of clear, dry weather will end just after Thanksgiving day as a complex, cross-country storm will bring periods of rain and strong winds to the region. A springlike stretch of weather will finally come to an end as a cold front moves through the region followed by potential impacts from a storm system developing in the Atlantic. A coastal storm system will bring a mix of showers, rain, drenching downpours, and gusty winds to much of the region.
