Triple Twister Touch Down: Tornadoes Confirmed By NWS In Pennsylvania Three tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in Central Pennsylvania on Monday, Aug. 7, the National Weather Service confirmed on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023.  According to NWS, the first tornado started near the south side of North Church Street in Black Rock around 5:02 p.m. and ended around 5:05 p.m. near Glenville Road. The EF1 tornado's 105 MPH winds damaged trees along its 75-yard path, NWS explained. 8th Tornado Across NJ, PA Confirmed In Lehigh County The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Lehigh County during Thursday's storm -- making that the eighth across New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. Severe Storm Damages Historic Fence At Gettysburg National Cemetery The historic fence surrounding the national cemetery in Gettysburg was damaged due to severe weather. Several trees at the cemetery were damaged during the storm earlier in the week. At least one hemlock tree fell on the fence-- bending the fence. The national Park Service has previously stated that the cemetery is scheduled for repairs in the coming years but with the recent damage that will probably be moved up.
