Steelton Mayor Declares State Of Emergency After Shooting At Cyrene Lodge Following a shooting outside the Steelton Elks Lodge, the Mayor has ordered it to close "effective immediately," as stated in a release late on Friday night.  The shooting happened in the 100 block of Frank S. Brown Boulevard just after 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, according to the Steelton police. No injuries were reported but "multiple shell casings and projectiles" were found in the area, police said.  The area could be known to some readers as Adams Street, but it was renamed in 2017 in honor of the first Black mayor, police explained at the time. Mayor Brown was "also a member of the Steelton…

Dad, Daughter Killed, Son In ICU Following Box Truck Crash On PA Route 230 A dad and his teenage daughter have died and a 9-year-old is in the intensive care unit following a crash with a box truck, authorities announced Thursday, May 4, 2023. The driver was alone in the box truck and 40-year-old Joshua "JJ" Moore was with his 15-year-old daughter Aviona "Avi," and his son were in his car, when the vehicles collided at the intersection of South Front Street/PA Route 230 and T Street in Steelton at approximately 3:54 p.m., according to the police.
