Fire Police Officer Lied About Being Hit While Directing Traffic In Newville, Police Say A Fire Police Officer who was directing traffic lied to authorities about a vehicle striking him, police announced on July 10, 2023.  Morris Metzger Jr., 66, of Newville had been directing traffic in the 100 block on South High Street prior to the alleged incident around 5 p.m. on June 20, according to Newville Police.  When officers arrived to investigate he told them avehicle "failed to stop for him and drove around his cones to turn right onto S. Boy Tries To Kill Parents With Pairing Knife In Central PA, Police Say "I'll cut them. I'll kill them," a boy said while holding his parents at knife point in a Newville street, authorities announced on Thursday, March 16, 2023.  The Newville police were called to the "domestic incident involving a weapon" in the first block of South High Street on Feb. 18, 2023 at 3:44 p.m., according to the release.  Upon arrival, they discovered the boy "wielding a 4-5 inch pairing knife and pointing it in the direction of his parents and others present," as stated in the release.  The boy "followed commands to drop the knife and to lay on the ground where h…
