The Montgomery County Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. Officer Douglas Haggerty III, 36, died on Friday, Feb. 4 when he suffered a medical episode while driving on Spencerville Road and crashed near Good Hope Road around 8:05 a.m., his department said. Man Who Tried Sex Trafficking Woman In Maryland May Have More Victims: Police
A man who tried sex trafficking a woman in Maryland may have more victims, police say. An investigation into Ernest Wilkerson, of Rockville, was launched in December 2021 after a female said she was sex trafficked by him in October of that year, Montgomery County police said. Wilkerson, 32, was arrested on Jan. 27, 2022 near Heartfields Road in Silver Spring, where he tried to pick up a trafficking victim in his red 2009 Cadillac DTS, authorities said. Senior Citizen In Maryland Rescued After Fall In Home Left Her Paralyzed For Days
A Rockville woman who had fallen in her home was rescued after being unable to move for four days, according to police. The unnamed senior citizen had fallen and was conscious but in distress for several days, Rockville Police said. Mail was piling up on her door and she was unresponsive to knocks. Rockville Police Officer Tyler Haines was contacted by the Rockville Senior Center and made entry into the home where he found the woman paralyzed on the floor.
