A central Pennsylvania former police officer has been charged for thefts he committed on the job, authorities say. 48-year-old Christopher John Still formerly of the Marysville and Halifax boroughs of police is accused of submitting for hours he never worked while employed with the Halifax Borough from 2019 and 2022— resulting in a theft of $98,754.50, according to a release by the Dauphin County district attorney's office on Dec. 1. Sometimes we can get blinded by anger and say or do things we don't mean but one central Pennsylvania woman took things too far, authorities say. Donna Mintzer, 48, of Marysville, was involved in a "verbal argument" the was quickly escalating when East Pennsboro Township police when called to her home in the 900 block of River Road at 10:21 a.m. on May 30, according to a release by the department. A central Pennsylvania woman has been charged with attempted homicide after shooting a woman having sex with her ex-boyfriend, PennLive reports. Tara L. Melhorn, 36, of Marysville, was getting ready to go home from her job at Market 24, located at 304 North 2nd Street in Harrisburg on Sunday around 2:30 a.m. when she spotted the pair, according to the outlet citing court documents. Officials Identify Man, 58, Who Drowned In Swatara Creek
A fallen tree in a local creek has led to the death of a Harrisburg area man, according to officials. The man who drowned in Swatara Creek on Saturday has been identified as Stephen "Steve" Matrese Sr., 58, of Marysville and Harrisburg. The drowning happened while crews we're attempting to rescue him, among others on Saturday around 12:30 p.m. and he was found dead on Sunday around 1 p.m., as Daily Voice previously reported.
