Fire Police Officer Struck While Directing Traffic, PA Police Say A fire police officer was struck by a passing car while directing traffic for a tow truck, according to Pennsylvania state police. Darryl L. Krom, 58, of Hanover, was hit by a Kia near the intersection of Hanover Pike and Pine Grove Road in Union Township on Sept. 23 just before 7 p.m., as stated in the police report. Krom was transported by Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services to Gettysburg Hospital, as the report stated. He was treated for a “suspected serious injury,” according to police.
