Cold CASE: Investigation Continues In Wilkes-Barre Girl's 1969 Disappearance Authorities are continuing to investigate the 1969 disappearance of Joan Marie Dymond.  Dymond was 14 years old when she disappeared from Andover Street Park on June 25, 1969, authorities have said.  Her remains were discovered more than 40 years later on Nov. 17, 2012, by individuals digging for relics on the grounds of a former coal-mining operation in Newport Township.  Another decade passed before DNA from family members confirmed they were Dymond's in October 2022.  Investigators still say they suspect "foul play." Pennsylvania Man Vanished Without A Trace More Than 40 Years Ago, PSP Says Ryan Jan Kemp has been missing since September 1981, but state police still believe his case can be solved.  Kemp, 30 years old at the time he vanished, was last seen grabbing lunch at the IGA grocery store on Route 873 in Neffs, according to authorities and archival reports from the Allentown Morning Call. Human Remains Found In Luzerne County Identified As Wilkes-Barre Teen Girl Who Vanished In 1969 Pennsylvania State Police have identified the human remains found in Luzerne County nearly 10 years ago as a teenage girl who went missing in 1969, they announced Tuesday, Oct. 4. The remains were discovered on Nov. 17, 2012, by individuals digging for relics on the grounds of a former coal-mining operation in Newport Township, state police said.  Authorities now know they belong to Joan Marie Dymond, who was 14 years old when she disappeared from Andover Street Park on June 25, 1969.
