Bomb Threat At Lancaster County Business Fake, Police Say An evacuation is over after a business received a bomb threat Friday morning, East Hempfield police announced around 11 a.m. Officers were called to Shanks Extracts located at 350 Richardson Drive at 6:25 a.m. on Jan. 26. "Employees had just discovered a message that had been left on the company’s phone system indicating that the building was going to explode," police said. Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt In East Hempfield Crash A motorcyclist was left with serious injuries after a crash in East Hempfield Friday, authorities said. Albert Cheeks, 47, of Randallstown, Maryland was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Route 30 near the Marietta Avenue overpass around 1 p.m. when he rear-ended an 80-year-old Lancaster woman's car, according to East Hempfield police. The impact left Cheeks with serious injuries, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
