A child has been taken to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle, Chambersburg police announced on Friday. The child "[accidentally] ran onto the roadway and was struck by a passing motorist," on Dec. 8, as written in the police release. Officers with the Chambersburg police department were called to a reported pedestrian accident in the 500 block of South Second Street at 8:44 a.m. According to Google Maps, the area is near Mike Waters Memorial Park and there are several crosswalks, but it is unclear if the child used one or was even coming from the park. …

9-Year-Old Girl Shot At Central PA House Party: Authorities
A 9-year-old girl was injured shooting during a house party in Harrisburg on Sunday, Sept. 11, authorities say. The shots were fired inside a home during the party in the 1000 block of South 18th Street around 1 a.m. Harrisburg City spokesperson Matt Maisel told Daily Voice. The girl was shot in her heel and went to a local hospital for care, according to Maisel. Party-goers and the girl’s parents are supposedly not cooperating with the police, Maisel said. A 12-year-old child was injured when a gun was accidentally discharged inside a Lehigh Valley home, authorities said. Officers were called to the 100 block of Railroad Street in Catasauqua around 1:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, borough police said. The incident apparently began when a 35-year-old man went outside with a loaded shotgun to investigate a noise. He went back inside when he didn't find anyone, police said. 12-Year-Old Girl Shot In Central PA: Police
A 12-year-old girl was injured in a shooting in central Pennsylvania on Saturday, according to a release by the police. Harrisburg police patrol units were called to a shooting at the intersection of North 5th and Woodbine streets on Apr. 2 around 7:30 p.m., according to the release. Upon arrival, the police found a 12-year-old girl with a gunshot wound in her leg. She was taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, the police say. A central Pennsylvania child was allegedly attacked by a neighbor's dog while trick-or-treating, according to a lawsuit filed by the child's parents. 4-Year-Old Killed When Children Were Hit At Intersection In Harrisburg
One child was injured and another is dead after an accident at the intersection of North 15th and Herr streets. Noraa Wilson, 4, and her brother Shayne Mcquay, 9, were leaving D&L convenience shop on a scooter when they were hit by a car on Monday around 5 p.m. Both were taken to a Harrisburg area hospital.
