Update: State Police ID Man Killed By Police, Woman Found Dead In Basement

UPDATE: The woman found dead has been identified as Angela Faidley and the man killed by police was Luke Stash, according to an updated release by Pennsylvania state police.

A man was shot and killed by police after a woman was found dead in a basement, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police.

Connellsville police went for a welfare check at home in the 2100 block of 2nd Street in South Connellsville Boro, Fayette County on Tuesday, Mar. 1, shortly after 4:30 p.m., the release states.

A man let them into the home where they found a 45-year-old woman dead in the basement, according to the release.

When officers attempted to arrest the man, a fight ensued– and the man pulled out a pistol and shot at the police, police say.

Officers shot the man and he died at the scene, the release shows.

The man was 33-year-old, his name– and the woman's name– have not been released.

An investigation by state police is ongoing.
