Antonio Saldana-Ramos, 47, was taken into police custody following the shooting Thursday evening for the killing of Hector Vargas, authorities
The shooting happened in the 4000 block of Clayoma Avenue in North Codorus Township around 5 p.m., Coroner Pam Gay confirmed to Daily Voice.
Northern York County Regional Police were previously called to the home "for a report of a shooting," as stated in a release the following morning.
Arriving officers found a Vargas with multiple gunshot wounds and a woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. The woman was taken to York Hospital "with serious injuries," the police said.
Gay's office was called to send a coroner to the shooting at 5:24 p.m.
Chief Deputy Coroner Tania Zech responded to investigate and certify the death of the shot man. He was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m., as detailed in a release by Gay's office.
Vargas died after "had reportedly been involved in an incident at the residence. This is an ongoing investigation at this time," Gay stated in the release.
Northern York County Regional Police is the investigating police agency.
Vargas's autopsy has been scheduled at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19.
A court docket for Saldana-Ramos showing criminal homicide and murder in the first-degree charges was updated late on Feb. 16.
He has no prior criminal offenses in the state.
