A New York man has been indicted on federal charges for abducting his ex-girlfriend's young daughter from Pennsylvania and bringing her to Brooklyn, authorities said. Duane Taylor, 47, made his first appearance in federal court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on kidnapping charges on Thursday, Sept. 22. The suspect who abducted a girl in Reading on Wednesday, Aug. 31 is the ex-boyfriend of the victim's mom, authorities have revealed. Duane Taylor kidnapped 13-year-old Janae Kalia-Henry from her home near Schuylkill Avenue around 2 a.m., prompting state police to issue an Amber Alert approximately 12 hours later. Gunman Wanted In Deadly Shooting Nabbed Blocks Away: Police
An 18-year-old man who fled the scene after gunning down a 19-year-old victim in Reading was in police custody as of Sunday morning, authorities said. Wilson Ventura-Cruz is accused of shooting the unidentified man on the 1400 block of Schuylkill Avenue around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, March 25, Reading police said in a release.
