A Fire Police Officer who was directing traffic lied to authorities about a vehicle striking him, police announced on July 10, 2023. Morris Metzger Jr., 66, of Newville had been directing traffic in the 100 block on South High Street prior to the alleged incident around 5 p.m. on June 20, according to Newville Police. A 27-year-old woman wanted a little extra cheese to cover the cost of her pizza cravings, so she used someone's bank details on her SliceLife pizza app account and place several orders, police announced on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Boy Tries To Kill Parents With Pairing Knife In Central PA, Police Say
"I'll cut them. I'll kill them," a boy said while holding his parents at knife point in a Newville street, authorities announced on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Newville citizens tipped off police about child and animal abuse parents with "dangerous dogs" were doing, police say. After receiving the tips, the area police investigated 32-year-old Travis Richard Laughner and his 29-year-old wife Taryn B. Laughner resulting in their arrests on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. A man has been "substantial injured" after his girlfriend drove over him, according to Newville police. Police were dispatched to Vine Street on Sept. 10 around 3:45 p.m. Upon arrival they found, "a man who had sustained substantial injuries to his left arm, hip and right foot," police said in a statement on Thursday. A man was arrested in Newville after police stopped him while driving around with a gas pump hanging out of his car and found heroin.
