A 5-year-old girl is dead and her father has been arrested in connection with her sudden passing, police say.
Gregory E. Woods Jr. was arrested just one week after his 25th birthday, the day his daughter died at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, Tuesday, Sept. 27, according to the police and court records.
Woods had only earned he had a daughter two years ago, PennLive reports citing court documents.
His daughter only called "MD" in the documents suffered extensive cuts and bruises over her face, arms, legs, and torso, the outlet reports citing the affidavit.

Duo Dies Following Central Pennsylvania Crash: Police
Two people have died following a head-on collision in central Pennsylvania, authorities say.
Washington Collier, 67, of Harrisburg, died at the scene of the two-vehicle crash at 10 p.m. on Friday, August 26, according to the Dauphin County coroner's office.
Ceferina A. Camones-Cacemiro, 87, of Harrisburg, was taken to a local hospital where she died two days later on Sunday, August 28, according to the coroner's office.
The crash happened on South Cameron and near Shanois streets in Harrisburg, city police say.

Elmer Vargas, 61, of Harrisburg, has been located, according to an updated release by the police on Wednesday, August 17.

A 61-year-old Harrisburg man has been missing since Monday, August 15, according to area police.
Elmer Vargas, lives on Harrisburg's south side of Harrisburg, but he hasn't been seen since the evening hours on Monday, the police explained on a release in the afternoon of Tuesday, August 16.
