A 27-year-old pilot masterfully landed a small plane on Loudoun County Parkway Friday, Jan. 19, officials said. Ahmed Awais, of Florida, was headed to Lancaster Airport in PA, and had just departed from Dulles Airport with Southern Airways Express Flight 246, when the plane went down in the DIREX lanes near Arcola Mills Drive, around 12:15 p.m., according to the FAA and local authorities.
