While heading to a training in Berks County, volunteers with the Adamstown Fire Company volunteers were called to a single vehicle accident on Rt 222. The crash was in the northbound lanes between the Exit: I-76 Turnpike/ PA Route 272 - Denver/PA Turnpike and Exit: PA 272 South/PA 568 East - Adamstown/Knauers around 7:30 p.m., according to PennDOT's 511PA. The unidentified driver was negotiating a sharp left turn in his sivler Chevrolet Silverado when he lost control of the truck near the intersection of Route 897 and Sportsman Road in West Cocalico around 1:15 a.m., local police said. East Cocalico PD: 86-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed By Tractor-Trailer An 86-year-old woman was killed in an East Cocalico crash on Tuesday. Audrey Lewandowski, of Adamstown was pulling out of Stony Run Road when her SUV was struck by the tractor-trailer at the intersection of North Reading Road and Stony Run Road around 1:15 p.m., local police said. Lewandoski was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lancaster County Deputy Coroner. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
