A 51-year-old man died at a hospital hours after a single-vehicle crash in central Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning, according to a release by the police.

The crash happened in the 5200 block of Route 216/Blooming Grove Road near Glenville in Manheim Township, York Country, the Northern York Regional police say.

The man’s black 2021 Ford F-250 pickup truck had veered off the road while traveling westbound– striking a guide rail and hitting a utility pole– before it over an embankment, coming to stop, according to the release.

The road was briefly closed and power wires were brought down by the crash, WGAL News 8 first reported early Tuesday morning.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was extricated from the truck by fire crews, police say.

The unidentified 51-year-old man from New Freedom, was flown to York hospital where he later died from his injuries, the release shows.

The road has since reopened and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
