Overdosed PA Mom Smothers Infant Son To Death: Affidavit
A 3-month-old boy suffocated by his mom while she was passed out after ingesting crack cocaine, Lancaster police detailed in court documents obtained by Daily Voice on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Luz L. Saez, 32, of the 500 block of Lime Street in Lancaster, smoked the crack to “stay awake”, according to an affidavit of probable cause, but grandma found the infant under his mom on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024.
The infant's death was later ruled an accident from asphyxia due to co-sleeping, according to the coroner.

A former postal worker-led police on a chase through Montgomery County after he made threats to a co-worker on Friday, Oct. 11, authorities said.
Andil Fatokinsi, 20, of Philadelphia, was initially pursued by Pennsylvania State Police on his way to the Lansdale Post Office, located at 20 Vine Street, where he was eventually arrested by borough police, according to an affidavit Daily Voice obtained on Thursday, Oct. 24. Stabbing At Trader Joe's Warehouse Leads To Worker's Arrest: PA State Police
A stabbing at a Trader Joe's Warehouse in Northampton County led to the arrest of a worker on Tuesday, Oct. 22, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
Cristian Burgos Vasquez, 39, a worker at the warehouse located at 6835 Silver Crest Road, East Allen Township, stabbed a co-worker multiple times with a knife following a verbal argument, state police said in a news release.
Troopers from Troop M in Bethlehem arrived on scene, treated the victim's wounds, and arrested Vasquez at 6:49 p.m., according to the news release. The victim was then taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg.
