Guatemalan Man Killed In Rainy Night Crash In Delco: PA State Police
A pedestrian was struck and killed on a dark, rainy stretch of W. Baltimore Pike in Middletown Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania State Police announced.
Jose L. Pelico Gonon, 35, original of Guatemalan but most recently of Media, was fatally hit by an Acura RDX driven by Christopher Conley, 22, of Havertown, at approximately 8:21 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, according to the release.
Gonon had crossed the northbound lanes onto a raised concrete island dividing the highway before stepping into the southbound left lane, failing to yield to oncoming traffic, investigators said. Conley, tr…
Driver Mows Down Two Men On Philly Crosswalk, Flees: Police
A white Lincoln plowed onto a crosswalk island, striking two men waiting to cross the street in Philadelphia, police said. The driver, 63, fled but was caught blocks away on Broad Street on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at 8:45 p.m.
The crash happened at Broad and Juniper streets in the 9th District, where the Lincoln bypassed traffic stopped at a red light, jumped the island, and hit the pedestrians, investigators said. Police stopped the vehicle on the 1700 block of North Broad Street and arrested the driver.

The pedestrian who was struck dead in Montgomery County on Sunday morning, Oct. 13, has been identified, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office told Daily Voice on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Joseph Mastromatto, 35, of Hilltown Township, died from "blunt impact injuries," the coroner's office told Daily Voice. His death was ruled "accidental in nature."
The collision happened in the area of 1330 North Broad Street at 6:19 a.m., Hatfield Police detailed in a news release.
