Fire Erupts at Liberty Road Compost Site, Upper Saucon Firefighters Respond A significant brush fire broke out at the Liberty Road Compost site, prompting a swift response from Upper Saucon police and firefighters on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at 1:27 p.m., according to officials. Arriving officers found the blaze spreading from the east side of the facility toward the adjacent wood line. Fire crews from Upper Saucon, Coopersburg, Lower Milford, Upper Milford, Vera Cruz, Eastern Salisbury, and Lower Saucon joined forces to bring the fire under control. US Air Force Member, Dad Killed In PA Motorcycle Crash, Fund Says Edgar Guadarrama Jaimes, a Coopersburg father and husband, died in a motorcycle accident last Wednesday, June 26, officials have said. He was 30.  Guadarrama Jaimes was pronounced dead at the scene of the Interstate 78 crash, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Two other drivers involved in the accident were not injured.  His obituary from Stephens Funeral Home says the 30-year-old served in the United States Air Force and was a server at the Coopersburg Diner. Coroner Names Motorcyclist Killed In I-78 Crash Officials have identified the 30-year-old motorcycle rider who died in a crash on Interstate 78 on Wednesday, June 26.  Edgar J. Guadarrama Jaimes of Coopersburg was involved in a crash near Exit 58 around 11:45 a.m., said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries and the manner of death was ruled accidental.  The other involved drivers, a 59-year-old in a tractor-trailer and a 42-year-old in a Honda Pilot, were not injured.  I-78 was closed until about 3:30 p.m. while crews worked the scene.
