A 22-year-old man from West Chester was arrested after striking an officer twice, authorities said.
On Aug. 25, 2024, at about 2 a.m., West Chester Borough Police responded to the 100 block of West Gay Street, West Chester Borough, for a disturbance.
While West Chester police were arresting two individuals, a third individual, Mavaetangi Vaki, 22 of West Chester, struck an officer.

A man has been charged with attempted murder after police found a man stabbed in the neck and face in Red Lion, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Joel McWilliams, 36, of Red Lion, has been charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of an Offensive Weapon, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Simple Assault, and Harassment, PSP York announced.
The charges come on the heels of a stabbing in the 300 block of 1st Avenue in Red Lion Borough at 10:22 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.

Bucks Man Fired Gun In Occupied Home, Police Say
A man is in custody for firing a weapon in a Warrington home, township police said in a release on Monday, July 29.
Safarie Xiong allegedly shot a gun in a residence on the 1200 Block of Palomino Drive on July 20, according to authorities. The round went through two occupied rooms but no one was injured, investigators said.
Xiong, 48, was charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment, police said. He is being held on a $100,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on Aug. 5, court records show.
