Fire Prompts Evacuation At Central PA Pizza Hut: Authorities A fire led officials to evacuate a Pizza Hut in Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 3.  The fire broke out at the Pizza Hut located at 320 North Reading Road near the intersection when Dutchland Avenue in Ephrata at 12:05 p.m., according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. Power Outage: Wires Fall On Excavator Along Harrisburg Pike, Officials Say The power was knocked in part of Cumberland after an excavator knocked the wire down on itself, New Kingston Fire Company Chief Curtis Hall announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13.  The operator of the excavator was still inside when crews arrived at the scene in the 1100 block of Harrisburg Pike on Tuesday morning, according to Chief Hall.  PP&L soon arrived and "determined it was safe for the operator to get out," Hall said.  PP&L remained in the area to restore power to those affected. The area where the excavator was working was being used for storage.

Vehicle Slams Into Fence On Rt 30 Ramp: PennDOT A vehicle crash into a fence at a Route 30 ramp is causing some delays on Monday, Aug. 5, according to PennDOT's 511PA.  The crash happened at the Route 30 Westbound on-ramp at Kreutz Creek Road in Hellam Township around 11:15 a.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services dispatch log.  The ramp was closed as emergency crews remained on the scene.
