Jonathan Elliot Moyer, 55, of Alburtis, waived his preliminary hearing after charges were amended to include additional victims, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
Moyer was charged with:
- 12 counts of interception of oral communications.
- 13 counts of invasion of privacy.
- One count of possession of an instrument of crime
Three of the 12 wiretap-related victims were minors, officials said. One particularly disturbing video allegedly shows Moyer positioning a camera to record an "up-the-shorts" view of a girl during a session.
Authorities say Moyer hid cameras disguised as USB charging blocks and key fobs to secretly film patients and staff at Empower Life Coaching & Counseling, where he served as program director.
The investigation began on March 3 after a witness found a microSD card showing Moyer installing a camera in the bathroom of the Quakertown office. Search warrants later uncovered more covert devices and dozens of recordings, some showing vulnerable victims discussing trauma or being asked for urine samples under false pretenses.
District Attorney Jennifer Schorn called Moyer’s alleged actions “a profound betrayal of trust” and pledged full accountability.
Moyer is scheduled for formal arraignment in Bucks County Court on June 30.
The case remains under investigation by Bucks County and Quakertown police, with assistance from Berks County detectives and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
