Philadelphia Police Officer Jaime Roman, 31, Dies 2 Months After Being Shot A 31-year-old Philadelphia police officer has died from injuries he sustained in a line-of-duty shooting more than 2 months ago,  Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker announced on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Officer Jaime Roman had been in a coma at Temple University Hospital following a shooting on July 22, 2024. He passed away in the hospital just after 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to the Mayor. Toddler Falls From Second Story Window: Philadelphia PD A toddler's fall from a second-story window called Philadelphia police to Kensington on Sunday night, July 14, according to a release the following morning.  The 2-year-old girl was found on the 500 block of East Indiana Avenue around 9 p.m., city police detailed in the release.  The girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in critical condition, according to PPD. The investigation into this "unusual incident" is ongoing, police said.

Woman Shot, Killed In Philadelphia Home: Police A 59-year-old woman was killed in a residence in Kensington on Friday afternoon, June 28, said Philadelphia police.  The victim was shot on the 3400 block of Crystal Street around 1 p.m. and taken to St. Christopher's Hospital where she died, according to authorities.  No arrests have been made and no weapon was recovered as of Friday evening, PPD said. Arrest Made In Shooting That Left Philadelphia Officer Critical A 36-year-old man has been arrested in a shooting that left a Philadelphia police officer in critical condition. Ramon Rodriguez Vazquez has been charged with attempted murder, attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, and more. According to 6abc, the officer and his partner were conducting a traffic stop on the 3500 block of F Street in Kensington when Vazquez fired three shots while fleeing from the scene around 8 p.m. He was also charged with tampering of evidence, obstruction, giving a false ID to police, and more.
