A 16-year-old is facing adult charges after allegedly shooting a 13-year-old in Chambersburg and firing a bullet that pierced a home’s bedroom, authorities announced.
The Pennsylvania State Police, U.S. Marshals, Chambersburg Police, and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office raided 72 S. Main St., Apartment 7, at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, arresting Aaron Keith Helman Jr. and three others tied to recent gun violence in the borough.

Temple Freshman, Gymnast Dies After Fall From Light Post In Philadelphia
A Temple University freshman died after falling from a light pole in Philadelphia while celebrating the Eagles’ victory on Sunday, Jan. 26, school officials said.
Tyler Sabapathy, 18, was critically injured over the weekend and later passed away on Monday, Temple University President John Fry said in a statement.
“The loss of a promising 18-year-old man like Tyler is both tragic and traumatic. There are no words that can make sense of it, and the entire Temple community mourns his passing,” Fry said.

Hit-run: Snow Plow Side-Swipes Ambulance In Lititz, Police Say
A snow plow truck side-swiped an ambulance in a hit-and-run crash on East Main Street in Lititz, causing damage to the vehicle, police announced on Friday, Jan. 24.
The collision occurred at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, as the ambulance attempted to pull off the road to allow the plow truck more room to pass, according to the Lititz Borough Police Department. Despite the effort, the truck struck the ambulance, damaging its driver’s side mirror, authorities detailed in the release.
The snow plow truck did not stop following the crash, police said.

A black bear that bit and scratched a man in Pennsylvania has tested positive for rabies, Pennsylvania Game Commission officials announced on Thursday, Jan. 23.
The bear-human conflict occurred on Sunday, Jan. 19, in Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, the commission said in a release. The adult male bear aggressively approached the man, exhibiting abnormal behavior before biting and scratching him, according to officials.
