2K Residents Without Power As Fallen Trees Cause Outage In Central PA: Police Fallen trees have left nearly two thousand Central Pennsylvania residents without power, police announced on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1.  The outage was reported around 1 p.m.  The fallen trees are in the 300 block of Swatara Street in Steelton, according to the police.  "Residents and businesses are experiencing a power outage," the police said.  Students are also being dismissed early due to the outage, according to the district.  Roller Families, Due to a power outage in the area students riding buses and parent pick ups will be dismissed at noon today and …

Power Outage: Wires Fall On Excavator Along Harrisburg Pike, Officials Say The power was knocked in part of Cumberland after an excavator knocked the wire down on itself, New Kingston Fire Company Chief Curtis Hall announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13.  The operator of the excavator was still inside when crews arrived at the scene in the 1100 block of Harrisburg Pike on Tuesday morning, according to Chief Hall.  PP&L soon arrived and "determined it was safe for the operator to get out," Hall said.  PP&L remained in the area to restore power to those affected. The area where the excavator was working was being used for storage.
