New Jersey Man Killed In Fatal Box Truck Crash On Route 322 In PA: Police A 27-year-old man from New Jersey was killed in a crash on Route 322 near Hummelstown on Monday, Nov. 11, after his box truck struck the Fiddlers Elbow bridge abutment, police announced. The crash happened when the driver veered off the westbound lane, striking a roadside message board before hitting a concrete barrier, traveling up an embankment, and ultimately colliding head-on with the bridge abutment at 6:16 a.m. The impact caused the truck to roll onto its side back onto the roadway, according to the Derry Township Police Department. While heading to a training in Berks County, volunteers with the Adamstown Fire Company volunteers were called to a single vehicle accident on Rt 222. The crash was in the northbound lanes between the Exit: I-76 Turnpike/ PA Route 272 - Denver/PA Turnpike and Exit: PA 272 South/PA 568 East - Adamstown/Knauers around 7:30 p.m., according to PennDOT's 511PA. Central PA Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash With Deer: Lehigh County Coroner A 64-year-old Germansville man was killed in a motorcycle crash with a deer in Lehigh County on Monday morning, Oct. 1, Pennsylvania State Police said. Frederick R. Brauchle III, of Heidelberg Township, was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the area of 4842 Mountain Road in Washington Township when he crashed into a deer at 5 a.m., according to the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio. Flaming Jackknife Tractor-Trailer On I-95 Near Betsy Ross Bridge (Video) A tractor-trailer fire shuttered part of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for hours, Pennsylvania State Police explained on Friday morning.  The tractor-trailer was already ablaze when it jackknifed on I-95 South at mile marker 25.6 in Philadelphia County near the Betsy Ross Bridge into New Jersey around 7:30 a.m. on June 28, state police detailed in the release.  The fire has been extinguished and Troop K Philadelphia Station was on the scene as of 9 a.m. The driver was able to escape.  Click the player below to see a Citizen video of the firefighters on the scene.
