A father of three with a deep love for his family and passion for life was tragically killed in a crash in Plymouth Township on Monday, Dec. 2, police said. Geoffrey Blaine, 40, of West Chester, lost his life after his work truck veered off the roadway on the 400 block of Township Line Road at 12:25 p.m., Plymouth Township police said in a release. The vehicle struck a telephone pole, a split-rail fence, and a tree before coming to rest. Blaine was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol Unit. Bizarre details about an arson were shared by police in court documents obtained by Daily Voice on Friday, Oct. 18. Leslie G. Truitt, the 100 block of East Chestnut of Ephrata, is accused of "placing belongings of a former resident in her bathtub and setting them on fire," the police stated in the release and Daily Voice reported. Foster Homes Needed For 30 Animals Seized From Berks County Home
Rescue officials are desperate for help after 30 animals were seized from a home in Berks County. The Department of Animal Protection from the Animal Rescue League of Berks County was performing a wellness check when they removed 22 dogs, three cats, five snakes, and two geckos were removed from a home in Womelsdorf on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Thirty birds, four dogs, one bull, and one pony were removed from a school bus and trailer in Adams County over the weekend, according to the SPCA. Eastern Adams Regional police called SPCA members to Hanover Street and Red Hill Road on Saturday night, the organization said in a release.
