Pedestrian ID'd After Fatal Hit-Run Strike Near Dutch Wonderland: Coroner
The pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle outside a hotel near multiple amusement parks has been identified by the Lancaster County Coroner on Friday, Aug. 30. John Zimmerman, 72, original of Lititz but recently of Lancaster, died at the scene of the strike at 2270 Lincoln Highway East at Fairfield Inn, according to the coroner. The strike happened around 4:10 a.m. and Zimmerman was pronounced dead at 4:54 a.m., as dispatchers said and as noted in the coroner's release. A ramp of the PA Turnpike/Interstate 76 closed Thursday morning, Aug. 22 due to a rollover crash, officials said. A tractor-trailer hauling dog food was heading east on I-76 when it attempted to take Exit 257 - Harrisburg East Interchange to I-283 Northbound, according to PennDOT and Turnpike officials. Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 81 on Wednesday, Aug. 21, Pennsylvania State Police announced. The single-vehicle crash led to two people being pronounced dead at the scene, and the two other passengers were taken to local hospitals for injuries, according to PA State Police. Several people suffered injuries in a six-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Route 30 in Lancaster Count on Monday night, August 12, authorities announced the following morning. Vehicle Slams Into Fence On Rt 30 Ramp: PennDOT
A vehicle crash into a fence at a Route 30 ramp is causing some delays on Monday, Aug. 5, according to PennDOT's 511PA. The crash happened at the Route 30 Westbound on-ramp at Kreutz Creek Road in Hellam Township around 11:15 a.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services dispatch log. Rt 11 Reopens After Fatal Tanker Truck Crash: PennDOT
A coroner was called to the scene of a crash on Route 11 on Wednesday morning, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler. The crash is believed to have been between a tanker truck and a passenger vehicle, Schreffler explained. It happened between Schoolhouse and Cove roads at around 11:30 a.m. on July 10.
