Family Of Trucker Struck Dead On I-78 Sues Driver Of Hit-And-Run Vehicle: Lawsuit The family of a Florida truck driver who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Berks County filed a lawsuit against the driver, according to the court document, which was filed Friday, Nov. 1. Jymel Dejuan Smith's family filed a lawsuit against Akhmadkhon Vokhidk Ubaykhonov, a Philadelphia man who was driving the tractor-trailer that struck and killed Smith, the lawsuit obtained by Daily Voice states. Smith had pulled his tractor-trailer over on Interstate 78 West near mile marker 41.5 in Greenwich Township at 4:54 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, according to previous reporting by Daily Voice.…

Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Pennridge A pedestrian was struck and killed in front of the White Horse Inn in Pennridge last week, authorities said on Tuesday, Aug. 13. On Friday, Aug. 9, Pennridge Regional police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Ridge Road and Old Bethlehem Pike. When officers arrived, they found a white Toyota Camry had struck a pedestrian as the man was crossing Ridge Road.  The pedestrian was identified as Peter Gehring, of Sellersville. Pedestrian Hit, Killed Standing On Philly Street Corner: Police An unidentified man has died after he was struck by a car in Philadelphia on Wednesday night, July 17, authorities said.  The man, believed to have been in his 50s, was standing on the corner of  Frankford and East Allegheny avenues when he was hit by a Toyota around 7 p.m., city police said.  He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to PPD. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and no arrests have been made as of Thursday, July 18, they added.

Passenger Dies After Carbon County Wreck: Coroner A Lower Towamensing man died days after a car he was riding in crashed in Montour County.  Jason Reed was the passenger in a vehicle that wrecked on Ashtown Road in Mahoning Township on Friday, May 24, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.  He was taken to University Hospital in Bethlehem where he died from complications of multiple traumatic injuries on Tuesday morning, officials said. His manner of death was accidental.  Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash, the Coroner's Office added.
