Armed Man Shoots Self As Officer Opens Fire: Pennsylvania State Police A 65-year-old Easton man is dead after a dramatic police chase ended in an armed standoff and gunfire in Wind Gap Borough, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Sunday, March 16. Forks Township police and other departments pursued the man on Saturday night, March 15, until his 2016 Kia became disabled near North Broadway and Tribe Lane, state police said. As officers approached, the armed man shot himself while a Forks Township officer simultaneously fired their weapon, authorities said. On a GoFundMe page, they said Kelly Kane "was stolen from us as she was intervening to avoid violence." Police did not detail the circumstances of her death, only saying that she was shot in the arm shortly after midnight on Monday, Aug. 26 on the 2500 block of Kensington Avenue. Car Crash Leads To Shooting On I-80: State Police Gunfire erupted after two cars crashed in Stroud Township on Saturday, July 27, state troopers said in a release.  The collision happened on Interstate 80 near mile marker 305 around 5 p.m., police wrote.  "After the occupants got out of their respective vehicles, multiple gunshots were fired," investigators said.  No one was injured and the incident remains under investigation by troopers, according to the release. Victims ID'd After Deadly Mass Shooting In Philadelphia The three men who died in the mass shooting in Carroll Park on Sunday, June 21 have been identified by police.  Akil Jones, 33, Rashie Jones, 29, and Sekayi Robinson, 23, died after gunfire rang out at a cookout on the 1200 block of North Alden Street around 2 a.m., according to authorities. The Joneses were brothers, police noted. Five other men and one woman were also shot and hospitalized in stable condition, officials have said.  Multiple groups exchanged gunfire during the shooting, investigators believe. Suspect Found Dead After Standoff In Scranton Home: Police A man has died and a woman is injured after a "domestic dispute" in Scranton on Saturday, June 8, according to city police.  Authorities said they were called to 1612 Pine Street for reports of arguing and gunfire around 10 a.m. A 27-year-old woman was found with "a gunshot wound to the upper extremity" and taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center, police said.  Her wounds were described as non-life-threatening.
