A coach and teacher in the Central Dauphin School district has been charged and arrested in connection with multiple sex crimes with multiple students, according to court documents obtained by Daily Voice. Alexander Jeffery Sweigard, 32, of Camp Hill, is a coach with the Central Dauphin Wrestling Program and a teacher at Central Dauphin Middle School, where he was once a student, according to public records. PA State Police Respond To Threats Across Mulitple School Districts
Threats have prompted Pennsylvania State Police to increase their presence in schools across multiple districts, PSP Troop M PIO Nathan Branosky told Daily Voice on Friday, Sept. 13. A bus carrying autistic children crashed in Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, state police announced the following morning. An 81-year-old man found dead at an elementary school in Lackawanna County has been identified, authorities said on Friday, Sept. 6. The body of Gary Porter, 81, of Dunmore, was discovered on Aug. 27 at Dunmore Elementary Center at 300 W. Warren St. in Dunmore, Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland told Daily Voice. Power Outage Closes Elementary School In Allentown
Allentown's Ramos Elementary School is closed on Tuesday, May 28 due to a power outage, district officials say. Jackson Early Childhood Center is also closed for the day, administrators said. No other Allentown schools are affected by the outage. According to the PPL outage map, the issue was caused by a tripped breaker or blown fuse.
