Woman Struck By School Bus In Critical Condition: Philly Police A 75-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a school bus on a Philadelphia street, police announced on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The woman was walking west on Chelten Avenue in the crosswalk at Chew Avenue at 3:01 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. At the same time, a school bus was going east in the 5700 block of Chelten Avenue and making a left turn onto Chew Avenue, police said. That's when the bus struck the woman in the crosswalk.
