Woman Killed By Falling Light Pole At Roxborough HS: Philadelphia District A 73-year-old woman died after being struck by a falling light pole at Roxborough High School in Philadelphia on Thursday morning, Dec. 5, a district spokesperson confirmed. The incident happened at about 11:08 a.m. while the woman was walking on the football field's track, authorities said. Paramedics treated her at the scene for 20 minutes before she was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at about 12:15 p.m., officials said. Teen Girl Dismembered In Boating Accident Off NJ Coast, Report Says A boating accident was under investigation at a New Jersey beach, police said Sunday, Aug. 25. Harvey Cedars police did not detail that accident and said only that it was "tragic" and under investigation with New Jersey State Police. According to NBC Philadelphia citing a source, a teen girl was dismembered after being run over by the boat, operated by her father.  "As the investigation is in its preliminary stages, we ask that you keep the family and community in your thoughts and prayers," Harvey Cedars police said.  Click here for more from NBC Philadelphia.

Driver Plunges Into Schuylkill River In Philly A car drove into the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, authorities said. At about 3:40 a.m., an unusual incident occurred at 1273 Kelly Drive in the 22nd District. Police and fire department personnel responded to a 911 call reporting that a black four-door sedan had been seen driving into the river. The vehicle was located; however, at press time no driver or passenger had been located, police said. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Toddler Falls From Second Story Window: Philadelphia PD A toddler's fall from a second-story window called Philadelphia police to Kensington on Sunday night, July 14, according to a release the following morning.  The 2-year-old girl was found on the 500 block of East Indiana Avenue around 9 p.m., city police detailed in the release.  The girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in critical condition, according to PPD. The investigation into this "unusual incident" is ongoing, police said.
