A deer stranded on a frozen reservoir was safely rescued by Lancaster County fire crews Thursday morning, Feb. 12. Quarryville Fire Company received a “Duty Officer Notification” for a deer on the ice at the Octoraro Reservoir in Colerain Township at 10:29 a.m., according to the department. The duty officer asked Lancaster County-Wide Communications to dispatch the Robert Fulton Fire Company for its boat and water rescue crew, Quarryville firefighters said. A 30-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a deer in Upper Macungie Township on Wednesday, Oct. 23, according to police. The motorcyclist, who is from Blandon, Berks County, struck a deer while driving on Route 222 North near its intersection with Grim Road at 6:38 a.m., the Upper Macungie Township Police Department said.
