Susquehanna Regional Police responded to a home on Rock Point Road in Marietta, East Donegal Township, on Thursday, March 6, after receiving a report that a fetus had been buried on the property the previous year.
Investigators with the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office arrived shortly after and identified an area of disturbed soil. A probe search confirmed signs of a possible grave, leading to the excavation of human fetal remains. The remains were transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center for further examination.
An autopsy on March 10 determined the fetus was 20 weeks and 6 days gestational age. The cause of death was ruled as premature fetal death, but the manner of death remains undetermined.
The coroner’s report identified the fetus as male, referring to him as "Baby Boy Jones."
Police confirmed that the case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Due to its sensitive nature, no further details are being released at this time.
