A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a Philadelphia man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, a young mother whose body was discovered in a shallow grave last month, authorities announced on Monday, Dec. 2.
Geovanni Otero, 29, is wanted for the murder of 29-year-old Melody Rivera, police said. Rivera, a devoted mom, was found buried in the 900 block of Tustin Avenue in the Fox Chase neighborhood on Nov. 7, days after she was reported missing, as Daily Voice previously reported.

Al-Ashraf Khalil, 31, and Isaam Jaghama, 31, were found guilty by a federal jury of conspiracy to commit malicious damage by fire and malicious damage by fire of a building used in interstate commerce, according to U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Captured: Norristown Police Nab Man Wanted In Machete Attack, Upper Merion PD Says
With help from Norristown police, a man wanted in a machete attack was taken into custody Wednesday morning, Sept. 11 without incident, authorities said.
Edward Gomery, 56, is suspected in "an aggravated assault involving a machete" on another man he knew on Aug. 27, Upper Merion police said on Monday, Sept. 9. The attack caused "significant injuries" to the victim, police said.
