Bilal Simmons, 46, was taken into custody and charged with murder. As a former convict, he has also been charged with violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, police said. Multiple fire departments responded to the report of a fire on the second floor of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish School, located at 112 Saxer Avenue, the Springfield Fire Company said on its Facebook page.
