'We Gave It Everything': Dog-Themed Bar Permanently Closing In Atlantic City A Philadelphia bar and restaurant is shutting down its Atlantic City location a little more than a year after opening near O'Donnell Memorial Park. In a Facebook post on Monday, Aug. 5, Good Dog Bar announced it was permanently closing its restaurant at 3426 Atlantic Avenue. The bar's final day of operation is Sunday, Aug. 11. Owners Heather Gleason and Dave Garry said financial issues made it impossible to keep Good Dog running in Atlantic City. Police Seek Missing 72-Year-Old In Bucks County A 72-year-old Fairless Hills man has been missing since Monday, July 29, according to Falls Township police. Joseph Verni was last seen around 8 a.m. that day, authorities said. He was wearing a burnt orange T-shirt and shorts and drives a white Honda Fit with Pennsylvania tag number MLG5191.  Verni is 5-foot-9 with a thin build, they added.  Anyone with information is asked to call Detective John Vella, at 215-302-3317 or email j.vella@fallstwppd.com.

2 Dead, 28 Sickened In Multistate Deli Meat Listeria Outbreak, CDC Says Two people died, and dozens of others sickened in a Listeria outbreak tied to deli meats in several states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Twenty-eight people across 12 states had been sickened between late May and mid-July, the CDC says. The deaths occurred in New Jersey and Illinois, health officials said. All 28 individuals had been hospitalized as of Friday, July 19.
