Jumbo Tron Part Of Funeral Details Released For PA Officer Shot In The Line Of Duty Funeral details have been released for Philadelphia Police Officer Jaime Roman who died months after he was shot in the line of duty.  The 31-year-old officer was two weeks away from his seventh anniversary with PPD when he died, Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said. He served in the 24th and 25th districts. He is survived by his wife and three children.   Officer Jaime Roman had been in a coma at Temple University Hospital following a shooting on July 22, 2024. Off-Duty Philly Cop Helps Rescue 4 From Fire An off-duty police officer helped rescue four people from a house fire in Philadelphia, authorities said. Two people died at the scene of the fire, Philadelphia police said. On Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7:35 a.m., Philadelphia Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a residential fire and people trapped on the 900 block of Granite Street, in the 2nd District. The four recused victims were transported to Temple University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children by PFD-Medic Units.

Officer Hospitalized With Medical Episode While Arresting Wanted Person, Police Say An Allentown police officer was hospitalized after suffering a medical episode while trying to arrest a wanted person, officials said. Police said only that the officer suffered some sort of medical episode while attempting to apprehend the suspect around 12:45 p.m. Monday, June 10 on the 600 block of N. 9th Street. Emergency aid was rendered on scene and the officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The officer is expected to survive. No further details were released.
