Fugitive Raheem Hylton was apprehended hours after a double shooting at Dilworth Park left two juveniles hospitalized, US Marshals announced on Thursday, Dec. 19. The shooting occurred near 15th Street and Market Street at approximately 4:33 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. A Philadelphia man who fatally stabbed a Macy's security guard and injured another during a robbery attempt has pleaded guilty to murder, authorities announced. Tyrone Tunnell, 31, admitted to killing 27-year-old Eric Harrison and wounding a second guard during a confrontation at the Macy's store on 13th and Market streets in December 2023, police said. Tunnell attempted to steal hats from the department store but was stopped by Harrison and his unarmed colleague, according to investigators. A 61-year-old man was hospitalized after being attacked by a meat cleaver-wielding passenger on a SEPTA bus in Philadelphia, police said. An officer parked in the 400 block of North Broad Street was told by a passerby that there was a man on a nearby bus armed with a machete, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Multiple shootings across Philadelphia left two people in critical condition and a third hospitalized on Friday, Sept. 27, according to authorities. The first shooting occurred in the 900 block of East Schiller Street at 10:06 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, as detailed in the police release. Patrol Vehicle Crash Sends 1 To Hospital: Philadelphia PD
An officer "operating a marked patrol vehicle was involved with a private vehicle", sending one person to the hospital on Monday morning, July 22, Philadelphia Police announced. The crash happened in the 18th District, at 57th Street and Larchwood Avenue at 6:09 a.m., as stated in the release. The officer was not injured, but the driver of the private vehicle was taken by Medic 9 to Jefferson Hospital for evaluation. The scene is being held. CID is the lead investigation unit. Pennsylvania State Troopers Injured In Fatal Philly Crash: Officials
One person has died after a crash involving a state police car early Friday morning, June 14. Troopers were driving south on Christopher Columbus Boulevard responding to a separate incident around 1:30 a.m., authorities said. At the intersection with Race Street, a northbound Mazda pickup truck "made an illegal left turn" into the path of the state police car, according to officials.
