Frank Sydnor, a Pennsylvania father known for his energy, love of music, and infectious spirit, has died after a long fight with Crohn’s complications and lung infections, his family said. He was 39.
Sydnor died on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, following years of health struggles tied to Crohn’s disease and a rare lung infection called aspergillosis, according to a GoFundMe created by his mother Monica Sydnor.

Olympic gold medalist Mary Lou Retton was arrested for DUI at the Pennsylvania border, authorities in Marion County, West Virginia announced on Tuesday, May 27.
Retton, 57, was pulled over near the state line on Saturday, May 17, 2025, and allegedly showed signs of impairment, according to arrest records. Troopers say she refused a blood alcohol test and had an open bottle of wine inside the vehicle.

Two siblings and their mother arrested in a horrific case of elder abuse in Pennsylvania, are accused of neglecting a 76-year-old woman in their care for years.
Lori Giacomelli, 56, of Forward Township (Allegheny County) and her children Rachael, 24, and Nicholas, 20, were each charged with two counts of neglect of a care-dependent person. The eldest Giacomelli is the victim's ex-daughter-in-law, according to WPXI.
