10 Overdosed Dauphin County Prison Inmates Hospitalized, Commissioners Say
Ten inmates were revealed to have been hospitalized for drug overdoses in September, Dauphin County Commissioner Justin Douglas said at a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Methamphetamine, which is believed to have been produced by Mexican drug cartels, has charges against 55 people in Central Pennsylvania, the Cumberland County District Attorney Seán M. McCormack announced on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The charges are the results of "Operation Speed Bump" as a reference to stopping "speed" a nickname for meth from coming into the Commonwealth. 50 Years After Being Found Frozen In Pennsylvania Cave 'Pinnacle Man' Is Identified
The body of a man found frozen in a Pennsylvania cave nearly 50 years ago has been identified, authorities said. The remains of Nicholas Paul Grubb, 27, of Fort Washington, Montgomery County, were discovered in January 1977 by two Appalachian Trail hikers who had ducked inside the cave to escape foul weather, according to the Berks County Coroner which announced the news last week. Grubb has long been known as the “Pinnacle Man,” named after the mountain peak near where his body was found. Mom and a "career drug dealer" have been sentenced for the overdose death of her daughter, according to a release by Pennsylvania's Attorney General Michelle Henry on Wednesday, July 17.
