Driver Plunges Into Schuylkill River In Philly A car drove into the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, authorities said. At about 3:40 a.m., an unusual incident occurred at 1273 Kelly Drive in the 22nd District. Police and fire department personnel responded to a 911 call reporting that a black four-door sedan had been seen driving into the river. The vehicle was located; however, at press time no driver or passenger had been located, police said. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Jesse Owens of East Rockhill Township was pronounced dead on Sunday, Aug. 11 at about 3 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. The cause of death is complications of blunt force trauma to the head, the coroner said. Coroner IDs Woman Killed By Train In Emmaus A 68-year-old Emmaus woman died after being struck by a train on Wednesday, July 31, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.  Teresa G. Bell was hit while trying to cross the railroad tracks on South Third Street around 1:15 p.m., officials believe. Lehigh Coroner Seeks Next Of Kin For New Jersey Woman Officials are looking for the loved ones of a New Jersey woman who died on Friday, July 12.  Shirley J. Smith, 77, of Belvidere, broke her right femur in a fall and died from complications at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Toddler Falls From Second Story Window: Philadelphia PD A toddler's fall from a second-story window called Philadelphia police to Kensington on Sunday night, July 14, according to a release the following morning.  The 2-year-old girl was found on the 500 block of East Indiana Avenue around 9 p.m., city police detailed in the release.  The girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in critical condition, according to PPD. The investigation into this "unusual incident" is ongoing, police said.
