A 45-year-old Luzerne County, PA man was arrested and charged after he slashed a woman in the abdomen and choked her in Morris County on Saturday, Oct. 5. Two New Jersey men were charged following a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle, according to a Pennsylvania State Police release Daily Voicew received on Monday, Oct. 28. Luis Peralta, 25, and Alberto Gomez, 29, both of New Brunswick, NJ, were arrested after attempting to evade troopers near mile marker 302 on Interstate 476 South on Thursday, Sept. 26, state police said. Garbage Truck Fire Shuts Down Northampton Roadway: Police
A garbage truck fire shut down a Northampton roadway on Monday, Oct. 28, police said. The 1000 block of Cressman Street in Plainfield Township was shut down so the Plainfield Township Fire Department could fight the blaze, according to the Slate Belt Regional Police Department. Fire crews extinguished the blaze quickly, police said. However, police are still asking drivers to avoid the area as crews continue to clean up garbage from the roadway. No injuries were reported, according to police.

A 68-year-old armed man was shot and killed by police in Montgomery County on Sunday morning, Oct. 27, authorities said. Upper Moreland police were called to a home at the Commerce Square Apartments in Willow Grove for a domestic disturbance where an 83-year-old resident let them inside around 11:50 a.m., MontCo District Attorney Kevin Steele said.
