Armed Suspect Barricades Inside Northeast Philadelphia Home After Robbery, Now In Custody: PPD  The barricade situation in Northeast Philadelphia has been resolved, the police announced on Monday, Nov. 25. Officers were initially called to a robbery on the 7100 block of Castor Avenue at 3:33 p.m., according to the Philadelphia Police Department. The suspect, described as a Black male, fled the scene and entered a home on the 6700 block of Large Street, prompting police to declare a barricade at 4:02 p.m. The man was taken into custody by 4:57 p.m., authorities said. 'Hazmat Incident': Residents Evacuated On Multiple Philly Blocks, Police Say (Updated) A reported hazardous materials incident cleared multiple city blocks in South Philadelphia on Friday, July 19, according to authorities.  A possible neighbor dispute and a strong smell of bleach and ammonia were reported on the 1200 block of South 22nd Street around 11:15 a.m., city police said. All residents on the 1200 block of South 22nd Street, the 2200 block of Oakford Street, and the 2200 block of Latona Street were evacuated, according to PPD. Overnight Standoff With SWAT Team Ends In Arrest: Cheltenham Police A suspect brandished a handgun during a standoff with a SWAT team in Cheltenham, according to township police.  Authorities said they spotted the suspect's car behind the 8250 Limekiln Pike Wawa around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
