These 64 PA Big Lots Stores Are Among Nearly 1,000 Closing Nationwide: Here's When
Big Lots, the popular discount retailer, is officially going out of business. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, has announced plans to close all 963 of its remaining stores nationwide, including the remaining 64 locations in Pennsylvania. Big Lots had 73 stores located in the Keystone State when they declared bankruptcy over the summer. More than 6% of all Big Lots were located in the commonwealth, with the most stores located in Texas. Philly Trucker Charged With Homicide For Triple-Fatal Monroe County Crash: Court Docs
A truck driver involved in a triple fatal crash that happened on Route 33 near the Northampton-Monroe County line was charged with vehicular homicide, court documents state. Mark Anthony Rideout Jr., 36, of Philadelphia, was arrested on multiple counts of vehicular homicide and related charges on Wednesday, Nov. 13, according to court documents. Jeffrey Jacobs was on his way home from work when he was killed in a motorcycle crash on Monday, June 24 on Route 46 in Mount Olive. A fundraiser has been set up to assist three of Jacobs' children and their mother, Ashley. Jacobs, an East Stroudsburg, PA resident. Four women were abducted, threatened with weapons, and sexually assaulted in a shipping container in the Poconos this week, according to state troopers. Police said they received a phone call about a possible kidnapping involving a Ford SUV around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. A woman is charged with reckless endangerment and related counts after police said she chased a man with a knife. Authorities said the victim saw Amber Lynn Miller walking on Park Avenue in Stroudsburg while armed with a knife on Thursday, June 6. Miller saw the victim and said, "What are you looking at?" according to police. She threw the knife at the victim's car as he drove away, officials said.
